If you want to keep your bike, you need to get aggressive when it comes to security. You should always use more than one method: Your handlebar lock, a disc lock, and a chain secured by a U lock are a good combination that’s still portable. Keep locks and chains off the ground to deny thieves leverage, and consider an alarm and/or a kill switch in addition to active locking devices.
